“It’s an exciting time for our program!” said head coach Randal Copeland. “We are co-oping with Wapanucka, who bring a ton of talent and energy, and when you watch us play, it’s clear that two schools have come together seamlessly. Our team meshes exceptionally well, expectations are very high, and we are focused, determined, and hungry to make history—aiming to win our first slow-pitch district championship since 2004!”

Powering the Scorpions’ offense is senior Whitney Hammons, the team’s returning statistical leader. “Whitney is one of our seniors,” Copeland said. “She led the Scorpions in almost every offensive category, and we expect she is going to have a monster spring.” Hammons’ dominance gives Boswell-Wapanucka the offensive anchor needed to chase that long-awaited district crown.

Freshman Savonnah Brown enters as the underclassman to watch, bringing serious pop from the outfield. “Vonnah is a freshman for us this year, plays outfield, and brings big bat to the club,” Copeland said. Brown’s raw power and immediate impact signal bright futures as she helps fuel early-season rallies.

Junior Jimena Avalos earns honors for her positive presence and involvement beyond the diamond. “Jimena is a Jr who plays outfield, she participates in FCCLA,” Copeland said. Avalos’ versatility in the grass and commitment to school activities strengthen the team’s culture.

Cassandra Pemberton receives mom of the month recognition as Booster Club president and tireless supporter. “She serves as our Booster Club president, she has been instrumental in helping us with scorekeeping, music, selling food. Whatever the girls need,” Copeland said. Pemberton’s all-hands-on-deck approach keeps the Scorpions energized at every game.

With Hammons’ monster bat leading the charge, Brown’s freshman thunder, Avalos’ steady outfield glove, and Pemberton’s behind-the-scenes magic, Coach Copeland’s seamless Boswell-Wapanucka co-op carries sky-high expectations. This focused, hungry unit blends talent, chemistry, and history-making drive to end a 22-year district title drought. The slow-pitch diamond awaits their determined run.
