Sophomore corner infielder and pitcher Brody Hallmark is focused on being the kind of player his teammates can rely on in any situation.
“My goal this season is to improve every week, play consistently, and do whatever I can to help the team win,” Hallmark said. “I want to be a dependable player my teammates can trust.”
He said the Bulldogs have built a strong culture around accountability and support. “Team morale has been really strong,” Hallmark said. “Everyone supports each other, and we’ve built a good culture of pushing each other to get better.”
That shift has shown up in the way Stratford approaches each inning together. “Our communication and discipline have improved a lot,” he said. “We’re playing more as a unit instead of individuals.”
With that foundation in place, the expectations for this season are clear. “Our goals are to compete at a high level, win games, make the state tournament, and grow as a team,” Hallmark said.
He believes the Bulldogs’ identity is rooted in effort and togetherness. “Our chemistry and hustle,” he said, when asked about the team’s biggest strength. “Everyone’s willing to do the small things that win games.”

On the field, Hallmark gives Stratford flexibility at several key spots. “Third base, first base and pitcher,” he said of the positions he plays.
His preparation routine is built around staying fresh and explosive late into games. “I focus on stretching, conditioning, and recovery so I stay quick and sharp through all seven innings,” Hallmark said.
Mentally, he keeps the game simple and centered on the present moment. “Stay locked in, play pitch by pitch, and compete every inning,” he said of his mindset when he steps between the lines.
Hallmark also has a clear idea of the legacy he wants to leave behind when his time in a Bulldogs uniform is over. “I want to be remembered as a hard worker and a teammate who always put the team first,” he said.
He added that there’s a lot about their preparation that fans never see. “How much preparation goes into every game — film, reps, and working on fundamentals,” Hallmark said.
Pregame, he leans on music to get into the right headspace without overthinking. “Something upbeat that keeps me loose and focused before first pitch,” he said.
