Senior Quintin Box has built his Allen track career around speed, versatility and a mindset shaped by the vault runway. “When I went to regionals my sophomore year for pole vault,” Box said of the accomplishment he is most proud of.
The sport has reshaped how he thinks about challenges. “It has taught me that mental toughness is the most important thing in track. You have to be tough mentally to run track,” he said. That same mindset shows up every day at practice and in competition. On meet days, he knows exactly what he brings to the group. “I am fast and I can pole vault to get us some valuable points for the team,” he said.

In the classroom and on the track, one figure has stood out. “Definitely coach Reade Box; he has taught me many things not just in track, but about life and other sports as well,” Box said. He also studies greatness at the highest level. “Tom Brady because of his mental toughness, focus and leadership he has towards his teammates,” he said when asked who inspires him.
Box points to a former training partner as a major influence. “Jace Bower; he and I used to work out every morning at 6 am for about two years and I loved it,” he said. Representing Allen comes with support he does not take for granted. “I get a lot of attention from not just the school but also from the community. They support me and my goals, so I am very blessed,” Box said.
A quote from his favorite quarterback guides his approach to competition. “If you don’t play to win, don’t play at all – Tom Brady,” he said of the best advice he has received. He makes sure to recognize everyone who has helped him along the way. “I want to thank God for the blessings he has given me. I want to thank my family and teammates, and I also want to thank Allen High School for my senior year,” Box said.
He studies another legend when he thinks about how to carry himself. “Micheal Jordan, because he was fierce and focused on everything he did,” Box said of the professional athlete he looks up to.
Box has signed to play football at SWOSU this fall as a linebacker.
