SOPER RED BEARS BASEBALL

Coach: Brian Harless

OUTLOOK

“Getting better, along with winning some games this spring that we would not usually win,” said head coach Brian Harless. “Our arms are getting stronger, and our bats are going to wake up like never before.”

Powering Soper’s offense is Dallon Gilbert, the team’s big-time slugger with serious arm talent. “Very strong hitter, great arm in the low to mid 70’s hits 80s on good days,” Harless said. “Big time home run hitter this season and powered a ton of hits to force movement on bases.” Gilbert’s bat and mound velocity give the Red Bears the punch to flip close games and spark rallies as they chase upset wins across the district slate.

Freshman Teagan Stacey bursts onto the scene as Soper’s underclassman to watch, already shining behind the plate with advanced hitting skills. “Young freshman with a great bat and a phenomenon at the catcher position,” Harless said. “With a little growth, keep an eye on him in the future.” Stacey’s poise and offensive upside position him as an immediate impact player with star potential for seasons ahead.

With Gilbert providing senior leadership and home run pop alongside Stacey’s freshman fireworks, coach Harless sees his Red Bears poised for breakthroughs this spring. Stronger pitching arms combined with bats finally coming alive create the formula for Soper to shock opponents and rack up signature victories on fields throughout southeast Oklahoma. This hungry squad enters the season determined to exceed expectations one pitch and swing at a time.
