Ada High School

Miilan Riley, a senior at Ada High School, has made his mark as both a standout basketball player and track athlete. Known for his competitiveness, leadership, and relentless work ethic, Riley plays point guard on the basketball court, where he sets the tone for his team.

For Riley, success in athletics is driven by his competitive spirit and an intense desire to win.

“I hate to lose,” he shared with Vype Magazine, and that mindset fuels his commitment to improving every day. Whether it’s pushing himself through tough practices or leading his teammates in high-pressure moments, Riley’s determination and focus shine through in everything he does.

His biggest influences have always been his parents, who have shaped his approach to both sports and life. From his father, he learned the importance of hard work and perseverance, while his mother instilled in him the values of patience and understanding, reminding him that all great things take time and effort. Together, they’ve inspired Riley to keep striving toward his goals no matter the obstacles.

Among his teachers, Mrs. Ross has had the greatest impact on Riley’s high school experience. Through photography toCNN, and now Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Ross has continually sparked new interests and encouraged Riley to explore his creativity beyond the basketball court.

Riley credits his success in sports to hard work and determination. Those traits were especially evident during one of the most memorable moments of his basketball career, scoring 29 points in a game against Plainview last year, a performance that will always be a highlight for Riley.

While he isn’t involved in traditional clubs at the school, Riley contributes to his school community through the Beautification Group, helping maintain and improve the campus environment.

After high school, Riley plans to continue his basketball career at the college level while pursuing his education.

Representing Ada High School means everything to Riley. He takes great pride in carrying on the tradition of toughness and hard work that Ada athletes are known for. Every time he steps on the court, he plays not only for himself but for his school, his teammates, and the community that supports him.
