TALIHINA LADY GOLDEN TIGERS

GIRLS

Coach: JOSH FIELDS

23-24 Record: 13-16

The Talihina Lady Golden Tigers are entering the 2024 season with confidence, bringing back a strong lineup and seasoned players ready to compete at the next level. “We’re a veteran team with four seniors, and we return six of our top eight from last year’s area tournament team,” said head coach Josh Fields. “We play a tough schedule every year, and I expect us to be able to compete at a higher level this year. Our main goal is to improve each game and be ready come playoff time.” With an experienced roster and high expectations, the Lady Tigers are prepared to face any challenge that comes their way.

Key players this season include senior point guard Khloe Holland (PG, Sr.), a four-year starter and the team’s motor. “Khloe makes us go,” said Fields. “She’s improved as a player and leader every year and is one of the hardest-working athletes I’ve coached. She’s a Black Diamond all-conference player every year in high school.” Holland will be a crucial factor in the Lady Tigers’ success this season.

Junior Brooke White Eagle (G, Jr.) is a player to watch, bringing both experience and defensive intensity. She’s been a starter for the past two seasons and usually guards the opposing team’s point guard. “Brooke was our third-leading scorer last season, and I look for her to be a top scorer again this year,” Fields noted. Alongside Malaree Morris and Khloe, White Eagle was a Black Diamond Conference First Team selection.

Malaree Morris (G/F, Sr.) is known for her versatility on both ends of the court. “Malaree does a little bit of everything for us,” said Fields. “She’s a secondary ball handler, guards both post players and guards, and disrupts passes. Talking about all the little things she does doesn’t do her justice; she’s just a great all-around player.”

Adding depth and energy to the lineup is senior Chloey Frazier (G, Sr.), a two-year starter recognized for her team-first mindset. Known for her unselfish play, Chloey is a high-energy defender who’d rather set up a teammate than score herself. “She’s a great defender who doesn’t seek the spotlight. We need more players like her,” said Fields.

The full roster brings balance and determination to Talihina’s squad this year. Alongside Holland, White Eagle, Morris, and Frazier, the Lady Golden Tigers’ lineup features impactful players across all grades who each play a pivotal role in the team’s dynamic. As coach Fields and assistant coach Tara Austin lead the Lady Tigers through a challenging schedule, the team is focused on building momentum for a successful playoff run.

With their tough schedule and playoff aspirations, the Talihina Lady Golden Tigers are ready to make this a season to remember.
