Isaac Hahn stands tall—literally and figuratively—as a dominant presence on the football field at Kingston High School. At 6’5″ and 230 pounds, his physical stature is matched only by his leadership. “My role on the team is team captain and the voice for our defensive and offensive lines. I prepare for this by knowing I have to stay focused and always having great energy so that if someone is having a rough day, they can feed off me,” Isaac explained. It’s not just his size that commands respect, but the way he carries himself as a leader, both on and off the field.
The Kingston Redskins are a tight-knit unit, and Isaac takes pride in their team chemistry. “The team chemistry is like no other. The upperclassmen have been starting since our freshman and sophomore year. With eight returning starters on both sides of the ball, we have an unbreakable bond as a brotherhood on and off the field,” he shared. This sense of unity is a key factor behind their success, as the team aims to build on last season’s achievements as undefeated district champions and state quarterfinalists.
When it comes to training, Isaac doesn’t cut any corners. “A typical week of training means lifting heavy five days a week in the mornings, even on game day. Then, our practices from 3-5:45. That’s just the physical aspect of it, though. Mental training is just as important to me as the physical,” he noted. Studying plays, watching film, and ensuring he’s taking care of his body with proper nutrition and hydration are all part of his routine.
Reflecting on one of his proudest moments, Isaac recalls a hard-fought win against Davis. “It was a physical game and a hard-fought win, not just for me but our team. Also, one of the best games I’ve played in my life.”
Influences are not hard to come by for Isaac: I would like to thank my parents for always keeping my head up. My coaches, especially my head coach Brad Hill, and my offensive line coach Nick Clayborn: they always push me to my limits and make me a better person day in and out.”
Looking ahead, Isaac plans to continue his football journey in college while pursuing a degree.
