Carson Alberda isn’t just a football player—he’s a force on both sides of the ball for Durant High School. Known for his relentless energy and game-changing plays, Carson’s impact on the field is undeniable. “My most proud moment was when I had 4 sacks and 5 tackles for loss in one game,” he said, “and it was against our rival McAlester. That night was amazing.” For Carson, these moments aren’t just about the stats—they reflect the hard work and dedication that fuel his success.
Growing up in Oklahoma, football was a part of Carson’s everyday life: “I’ve always watched football with my dad. When I was around six, I started loving this dude named JJ Watt; he kind of got me into football and into playing D-line.”
Carson’s role in the team is as versatile as it gets. “I play defensive tackle, left tackle, and some defensive end,” he explained. “At defensive tackle, my job is to find the ball and make a play. At left tackle, I have to protect the quarterback, and at defensive end, I have to contain so the other quarterback can’t scramble.” His ability to adapt to different roles is a testament to his skill and football intelligence, making him a crucial asset for Durant’s defense and offense alike.
Highlights for this football player are bound to stand out: “A highlight from this year was that there was two kids double teaming me when I was on defense. I ran right in between them, and I had to get under them. I did, then made the tackle on the running back in the backfield.”
Beyond the field, Carson’s commitment to improving is evident in his training routine. “A typical week for me includes weights twice a day at school, conditioning every other day, and going to C4 twice a week to work on speed, agility, and acceleration,” he said. His drive to be better shows in his goals: “I want 12 sacks and 11 tackles for loss this season.”
When it comes to advice for younger athletes, his message is simple: “It doesn’t matter what others say, just keep on grinding and trust God, and you can get whatever you work for.”
Looking ahead, Carson hopes to take his talents to the next level. “I plan to go to college and play football there, and I’m gonna keep grinding and working to see where it takes me. I hope to work hard enough to get drafted to the NFL.”
