CADDO BRUINS
Coach: JEFF WIGINGTON
9-3
OFFENSE
The dawning of a new era has begun for the Caddo football program. Jeff Wigington has taken over alongside an excellent coaching staff that includes Shane Millermon (Asst HC/DC), Dustin McKay (RB/LB), Chris Counce (OL/DL), and Hunter Self (WR/DB). “Have a good number of returners from a 9-3 Squad in 2023. With some key players gone to graduation, there will be some new faces that need to step up and fill those rolls. Really excited about our OL/DL and the youth we will have at the skill positions,” said Wigington. He brings with him a young gunslingerand a two-year starter from Texas in Cale Wigington (6-1, 175, Jr.). Wigington will pilot the spread offense the Bruins will run this season that showcases the talents of guys like Wigington and Jake Mullens (6-1, 175, Sr.). Mullens is a key player in the offensive attack at wide receiver. Same goes for running back Boen Proctor (5-6, 160, Jr.) and Jake McKay (5-7, 145, So.) at WR. Add Bayler Black (5-8, 160, Fr.) to the mix and you have an experienced group of skill players with some young talent that can go. Wigington said the strength may be the offensive line featuring Austin Lackey (6-0, 295, Sr.) and Charles Phillips (5-10, 220, Sr.).
DEFENSE
Defensive coordinator Shane Millermon will field several starters from the offense including Mullens who will start in the secondary. The odd-man front defense the Bruins will base in this season depends on guys like Austin Lackey and Damien Forbes (6-6, 315, So.) to get a good push up front and forces teams out of their comfort zone. Faber is a move-in from Whitewright, Texas and is expected to make an immediate impact on both sides of the ball. Proctor and Noah Dry (5-10, 180, Jr.) are excellent linebackers that play a physical brand of football. Their play is crucial for the success of the defense. Proctor is a natural leader and great teammate.
