Stuart’s Reagan Dominic – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Patriot Auto Group of McAlester

For Reagan Dominic, softball has been a lifelong passion. “Softball has always been a huge part of my life,” the Stuart High School junior shares. “I got my start at four years old playing co-ed baseball, and then started softball and pitching when I was seven years old. Since then, I’ve fallen more and more in love with the game every day.”

Dominic draws inspiration from some of the biggest names in softball, as well as from personal mentors. “As a young kid, watching players like Keilani Ricketts and Lauren Chamberlain play always made me want to get out on the field and do what they did,” she explains. “After I started pitching, I got the opportunities to meet and work with some amazing coaches—like Jennie Finch, Paige Parker, and Nicole Mendes. These players were amazing role models and helped mold me into the player I am today.”

Reagan’s role on the Lady Hornets is multifaceted. “My specific role on our team is to be a big hitter and a leader,” she says. “The best way to lead is to lead by example, so if I’m working my hardest, showing up early, staying late, getting extra reps in, always having a positive attitude, and taking every opportunity to get better, then ultimately I’ll be a better player and a better leader.”

Dominic’s hard work paid off in a memorable highlight from last season. “A highlight from last season was going 4-4 with 4 home runs against our conference rival to win the conference championship,” she recalls.

Beyond the field, Reagan emphasizes the importance of her team’s chemistry and community support. “This Lady Hornet team, specifically, has amazing chemistry. One thing I love about us is that we work hard and have fun doing it,” she shares. “Community support is so important to the team! Performance-wise, a good fan section at games, cheering loud, always makes me want to play better. All of those people cheering us on is an awesome feeling!”

After high school, Dominic plans to continue her academic and athletic career in college, with aspirations to major in mass communications. “I’d like to pursue a career in journalism,” she says, ready to continue her journey of growth and success.
