Keelie Treat’s career in softball is one built on her early love of the game, passion and dedication. “I got started playing softball when I was three and I just grew to love the sport ever since then,” Keelie said, now a senior at Stuart High School. She balances her time between softball and basketball but finds time for other hobbies too. “In my free time, I like to bake,” she added.
Her love for softball was shaped by watching Oklahoma University’s softball team as a child, and it was an experience that deepened her connection to the game. “I was inspired by watching OU growing up and I feel that watching them just developed my love for softball even more growing up. One of my biggest influences is my dad,” she shared.
Keelie’s current team chemistry is something she’s proud of. “Everyone is super close, and we treat each other like family.” Her role as a key player involves helping her team in any way possible. “My role is to help the team get outs, get base hits and be an overall team player,” she explained.
With a clear focus on her senior season, Keelie has set high goals for herself and her teammates. “My goal for this season is to help take my team back to the state tournament and win a state championship this year.”
Her softball routine includes a structured week of training, making time for pitching instruction and strength work. “I make sure I get plenty of cuts in the cages and also ensure I’m getting enough sleep and fueling my body,” she said, showing her commitment to physical and mental preparation.
One of the biggest challenges for Keelie was adjusting to a new school and team, but she quickly overcame it. “My new team accepted me quickly, and we bonded over our shared passion for softball.” Last season, Keelie led her team to regionals and eventually to the state tournament, a highlight that she will never forget.
Keelie’s future is bright. Looking ahead, she envisions herself playing college softball while working toward her dream of becoming an orthodontist. “I plan to attend Murray State College in Tishomingo, get my degree in Dental Hygiene, and eventually finish dental school to become an orthodontist.”

Reagan Wade, a senior at Stuart High School, has been a dominant force in softball since she was just five years old. Playing for the Stuart Lady Hornets, her love for the game runs deep, having also competed in travel ball since she was eight. “Both of my parents were athletes and got me started playing sports early. They have instilled the love of sports in me,” Reagan explained.
As a senior captain, Reagan takes her leadership role seriously. “My role is to make sure we go into each game with everything we need, encourage positive attitudes, and give instruction to the younger players on the team with each play or inning,” she said. The bond within her team is a crucial element to their success. “We are a younger group, but love and respect one another. We know how far to push one another, and when to lay off. We are not a selfish team.”
Reagan’s dedication to the sport is reflected in her training regimen. “We practice daily as a team if it isn’t a game day; after practice I personally come home and work in the cage with my dad,” she shared. Her goals for the 2024 season are ambitious but attainable. “We want to come out ranked #1, make it to the state playoffs, and take home another state title.”
Reflecting on her career, Reagan highlights the challenges of rebuilding after her sophomore year’s state championship. “We graduated six seniors and had to rebuild my junior year, which had a lot of ups and downs. We overcame it by setting goals and getting back to the state tournament.” One of her favorite memories? “The home run I hit in the Eufaula Tournament—it was my furthest homerun to date.”
Looking ahead, Reagan plans to continue her softball career at Rose State College, pursuing a degree in radiology. “I want to be a travel ball coach one day, helping other girls achieve success like my coaches have helped me,” she said. Reagan’s journey is a testament to hard work, leadership, and a deep love for the game of softball.
