Stuart is aiming to extend one of Oklahoma’s most consistent recent runs of success on the diamond. The Lady Hornets went 24-12 last season and have reached the state tournament four straight years, winning two state championships during that stretch. That sustained success has created a culture of high expectations, and despite replacing key contributors, the program enters the fall confident that a talented mix of experienced leaders and emerging young players can continue that tradition. With versatility throughout the lineup and multiple athletes capable of filling different roles, Stuart expects to once again be a contender when postseason play arrives.
Emma Bear is a hard-nosed athlete who works and plays extremely hard. She has a true eye at the plate with plus power, projects to hit near the top of the lineup and has the ability to play many positions and play them well. Coaches believe she has an excellent opportunity to continue competing at a high level after high school. Her versatility allows Stuart to make adjustments without sacrificing production, making her one of the team’s most valuable all-around players.
Genna Haney is a versatile standout who can excel both behind the plate and in center field, armed with an above-average arm and a well-disciplined swing that make her a rising prospect with post-high school options. Her athleticism gives the Lady Hornets flexibility defensively while adding another dependable bat to the lineup.
Ella Shiever is a glue player for the program, a fast outfielder with a knack for chasing down fly balls and a teammate who thrives on motivating others and helping hold the group together emotionally. Kadence Griffin is a cornerstone of the softball program and a true competitor in the show ring, winning with numerous animals while serving as an FFA officer and leading by example on and off the field.
