Red Oak’s Nolan Muncy – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Patriot Auto Group of McAlester

Nolan Muncy has always strived to be the best in whatever he does. “I like to be an overachiever. I like to be better than the person next to me at whatever I’m doing,” he shared. A junior at Red Oak High School, Nolan’s competitive spirit is matched only by his deep faith. “I’m super into the Word of God,” he added, emphasizing the values that guide him both on and off the field.

Baseball has been a constant in Nolan’s life since childhood. “I started playing baseball as soon as I could pick one up,” he recalled. “I just adopted it through my family.” His older brother played a pivotal role in shaping his love for the game. “He’s my biggest influence. He was a great ball player and has become an even better person.”

As the only junior on the team, Nolan embraces his role as a leader. “I like to mentor the younger classmen and make sure they are doing what’s going to help the team and themselves,” he said. On the mound, his responsibility is clear: “I’m a guy you can pitch against any team, and I’m going to go out there and still hold myself to a high standard.”

Nolan and his teammates share a unified goal for the season. “We all have the same goal of making a deep run into the playoffs and getting to the state championship game of Class A II,” he explained. While last season fell just short of their aspirations, it only fueled their determination. “It has motivated me and my guys to push a little bit harder every day.”

Off the field, Nolan’s dedication to self-improvement is unwavering. “I work out and do arm care five out of seven days a week,” he said of his training regimen. His faith remains a cornerstone of his approach. “Don’t take your early sports years for granted,” he advised younger players. “Be NATO—never attached to the outcome. Become close with the Lord, and it will pay off in the long run.”

With his eyes set on playing collegiate baseball and living a fulfilling life, Nolan’s journey is driven by hard work, faith, and an unyielding passion for the game.
