
VYPE: What sport do you play and what position(s)?
Tomas Reynoso: I play soccer as a center back.
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
TR: I think that when we managed to reach the playoffs for the first time in the history of the program is an accomplishment I am most proud of.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
TR: I believe soccer has taught me that no matter how good you think you are, you’ll always face someone who will teach you something new.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
TR: My favorite teacher is Ana Gomez. She is the teacher who has helped me inside and outside of school. She has personally helped me with emotional problems I have had, and she is always available to help everyone.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
TR: Coach Buie has been an inspiration for everything he does for his players. He has shown us that he doesn’t just do it for the job or to win, but he wants us to feel good while playing soccer and always seeks to bring out the greatest potential in us.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
TR: Juan Medina. He has taught me that no matter how difficult your life is, you can always give 100 percent.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
TR: My favorite part about representing my school is to gain recognition for a sport that isn’t very supported at my high school.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
TR: The best advice anyone has given me is that the only thing that can stop you is your own fear.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?
TR: I look up to Eric Abidal. He beat cancer and returned to playing, and when he came back he won the Champions League.
