Kamille Rose, a freshman at McAlester High School, is set for an exciting year in her first season as a cheerleader. Balancing the roles of flyer and backspot, Kamille brings a vibrant energy and dedication to her team.
“What motivates me is knowing I am getting to be a better cheerleader every day by not cheating at practice and actually wanting to be there,” Kamille shares. Her commitment to improvement and genuine passion for the sport are evident in her approach to training and performance.
Kamille draws inspiration from college cheerleaders who have turned their passion into a career. “College cheerleaders that make cheerleading their job and love what they do, inspire me,” she says, highlighting the level of dedication she aspires to achieve.
Another significant influence in her journey is her dance teacher, Angie McGowan. “My dance teacher, Angie, has shown me how beautiful these sports can be and gave me the work ethic I have today,” Kamille explains, attributing much of her discipline and appreciation for cheerleading and dance to Angie’s guidance.
Describing herself as “dedicated, confident, focused, and consistent,” Kamille embodies the qualities that make an excellent cheerleader. She thrives on the excitement of game days and pep rallies, finding joy in the electric atmosphere and the opportunity to support her school. “Being on the sidelines of games and pep rallies” is one of her favorite aspects of cheerleading.
Kamille’s competitive spirit is another driving force. “I enjoy going up against cheerleaders that I find really good so I can improve from their skills and see other ways to get better,” she said. This mindset not only helps her enhance her own skills but also fosters a culture of continuous improvement within her team.
One of Kamille’s greatest joys is being surrounded by teammates who share her love for the sport. “I love being around teammates that love the sport just as much as I do,” she noted.
Though Kamille is still exploring her future career path, her positive outlook and spirited attitude remain unwavering. “I always try to have a positive and spirited attitude when representing our school and sports,” she said, embodying the enthusiasm and dedication that make her a standout athlete at McAlester High School.
