HARTSHORNE MINERS
Coach: BILL WILLIAMS
2024 Record: 7-4

OFFENSE
In Hartshorne, football is built on toughness, unity and selflessness—and for head coach Bill Williams, this year’s team embodies those traits. “This group of young men are very selfless. They work hard and do it every day without any complaints,” said Williams. The Miners return six offensive starters and bring back a potent ground game aided by senior running back Acetin Rowell (6-1, 190, Sr.). Rowell rushed for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns last season and brings over 1,800 career rushing yards into his final year.
Hartshorne’s offense operates out of 10- and 20-personnel groupings with a focus on physicality and execution. Rowell will be supported by a balanced offensive unit that also includes senior tight end and wide receiver Malachi Sunagoowie (6-1, 205, Sr.), who added over 100 receiving yards last season and brings toughness to the edge.
“Our guys are strong in the weight room and very strong in the classroom,” said Williams. “They give their very best without any ‘look at me’ arrogance. It’s all about the team with this group—the way it’s supposed to be.”
DEFENSE
The Miners return seven defensive starters and a gritty mentality this season. Rowell tallied 247 total tackles, 12 sacks and two interceptions in 2024. “We do not have anyone that puts themselves above the team and that in itself is the key to success,” said Williams.
Defensively, Hartshorne lines up in a 10-1 base formation and will rely on playmakers like Sunagoowie, who posted 83 tackles and 8 sacks last year.
Williams is proud of what this team represents: “We are proud of our Hartshorne Miner football team. We will give our very best and can 100% live with the result. The Team, The Team, The Team.”
