QUINTON SAVAGES
Coach: BRIAN HAYNIE
2024 Record: 4-6
OFFENSE
With a full roster returning from last season, the Quinton Savages are geared up for a big leap forward in 2025. “We return the whole roster. Had no seniors last season. We should be better,” said head coach Brian Haynie. Now with experience under their belt and another offseason of growth, the Savages are looking to turn promise into production.
The offense is built around a fast-paced, spread no-huddle attack. “We’re mostly one-back gun, but we use multiple formations,” Haynie explained. Leading the charge is quarterback Bret Bray (5-8, 145, Jr.), who gained valuable experience a year ago and is now poised to command the offense with confidence.
In the backfield, Trentyn Shamblin (5-11, 190, Jr.) is a powerful and dynamic runner who provides stability and explosiveness. “Trentyn gives us physicality and big-play potential,” Haynie said. At receiver, Jaden West-Powell (6-3, 160, Jr.) and Mikey Perez (5-8, 155, Sr.) offer contrasting styles—length and athleticism from West-Powell and shiftiness and savvy from Perez.
The offensive line is anchored by Bo Wagnon (6-1, 220, Sr.), a veteran with unmatched versatility. “Bo knows nearly every position on offense and has played center, guard, tight end. He’s very unselfish and a quiet leader,” said Haynie.
DEFENSE
On the defensive side, the Savages are transitioning under a new coordinator and bringing a more aggressive mindset. “We’ll run a multiple 3-2 and emphasize aggressiveness,” Haynie said. That change is expected to unlock the full potential of this experienced unit.
Shamblin will also lead the defense from his linebacker spot, bringing toughness and tenacity to the middle. Wagnon shifts to defensive end, where his physicality will be key in setting the edge. In the secondary, Cash Hobbs (5-11, 150, Jr.) plays with great instincts at free safety, while Bray and Perez provide solid coverage at the corners.
A rising name to know is underclassman Kaden Sustairre (6-1, 175, So.). “He has a big frame, long arms, and lots of potential,” said Haynie.
With experience, depth, and determination, the Savages are on the verge of something special. “We’re excited. We’ve grown together, and it’s time to show it on the field,” Haynie said.
