HARTSHORNE MINERS
COACH: Matt Henry
Record: 19-8
OUTLOOK
Coming off a strong 19-8 season and a trip to the state quarterfinals, the Hartshorne Miners enter the new year with momentum, leadership, and unfinished business. Head coach Matt Henry returns a deep and experienced roster that knows what it takes to compete at a high level. “We return three full-time starters and another who started half the year from our state quarterfinal team,” said Henry. “We expect to be in position at the end of the year to make it back.”
Leading the way for the Miners are Natavious Bringinggood and Davantrae McKendrick, two dynamic senior guards who power the Hartshorne offense with versatility and poise. Bringinggood (6-4, Sr.) averaged 13.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game last season, making him one of the most well-rounded players in the area. “Natavious is a three-year starter and has turned into an incredible leader,” Henry said. “He is our top returning scorer, rebounder, and assist man. He is a special player who is really hard to guard and stay in front of and is a true three-level scorer.”
McKendrick (5-11, Sr.) is right beside him as a scoring threat, averaging 13.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game**. “Davantrae may be the best one-on-one player and has an incredible first step and change of pace,” said Henry. “He is also a three-level scorer but thrives when he is at his mid-range spot.”
The senior leadership continues with Zack Harrison (5-11, Sr.), who contributes 8.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, along with Brodie Eddy (5-10, Sr.), who adds depth and experience with 3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Rising juniors Shaedyn Wilcox (6-7, F) and Isiaha Hernandez (6-4, C) bring size and defensive presence to the Miners’ lineup.
Supporting the veteran core is a group of capable contributors including Acer Hackler (Sr.), Jordan Lalli (Sr.), Boston Munholland (Sr.), Nuseka Dixon (Jr.), Cross Mass (Jr.), Cutler Johnson (So.), Jasper Vinson (So.), Chazzden McMillan (So.), Gunner Sam (So.), Cayden Durkee (So.), and Alex Peery (So.).
With a lineup full of experience, scoring balance, and leadership, the Miners have all the tools for another deep postseason push.
As the Miners prepare for another competitive season, their combination of veteran talent and team chemistry makes them a serious threat once again in Class 2A basketball.
