2025 Canadian Cougars Cheer Team

CANADIAN COUGARS CHEER

Coach: MELINDA MILLER

2025 SEASON OUTLOOK

The Canadian Cougars cheer squad is stepping into the new season with excitement and momentum under the direction of head coach Melinda Miller. “We are a young and growing team, eager to get the season started,” said Miller. With a mix of veteran leadership and rising stars, this year’s team is building a strong foundation for the future while continuing to represent Canadian Public School with pride and enthusiasm.

Leading the way for the Cougars is senior Ashton Miller, a longtime staple of the cheer program. “As a senior, Ashton has been a dedicated member of our cheerleading squad since junior high, showing unwavering commitment and passion year after year, Miller said.  “Ashton’s love for all things cheer is evident in every routine, practice, and game, inspiring both new and veteran teammates.”

Ashton’s leadership is matched by her ability to lift up those around her. “Ashton consistently leads by example, supports others with positivity, and embodies true school spirit,” said Miller.

One newcomer making a big impression is Skylar Sanders, this season’s underclassman to watch. “Although new to our cheer squad this year, Skylar has brought incredible excitement and enthusiasm to the team,” said Miller. “Her strong tumbling skills have impressed everyone and added new energy to our routines. Skylar’s positive attitude and eagerness to learn make her a standout teammate, and she shows great promise as a future leader on our squad.”

Among the underclassmen, sophomore Makenzie Woodruff has quickly earned praise for her character and work ethic. “Makenzie has cheered for several years and consistently demonstrates dedication, politeness, and a strong willingness to learn,” said Miller. “She is always eager to help out, whether at practice or during events, and serves as a positive role model for her peers.”

With a team full of heart, energy, and school spirit, coach Miller and the Cougars are ready to shine this season.
