VANOSS WOLVES
BOYS
Coach: JON HURT
23-24 Record: 15-3
The Vanoss Wolves are primed for an exciting season as they head into 2024 with a talented roster and a focused mindset. After a solid 15-13 season last year, head coach Jon Hurt is confident his team has the skill to compete at a high level. “This group has a lot of talent,” said Hurt. “We just need to understand how important the little things are.” With a roster that boasts a mix of experienced upperclassmen and promising young players, the Wolves are ready to make their mark.
The Wolves’ lineup features key returning players like junior guards Jarin Factor (5-6, Jr.) and Brady Johnson (5-8, Jr.), both of whom bring speed and playmaking to the team. Junior Noah Golish (5-6, Jr.) adds depth to the guard position and is expected to play a critical role. Another standout player, sophomore guard Dyllan Brown (6-0, So.), has been recognized as one of the best in the Ada area. His strong court vision and scoring ability will be vital to the Wolves’ success.
New talent is coming in with freshmen Tye Newby (5-10, Fr.), Cooper Treat (6-0, Fr.), and Quenton Jackson (6-1, Fr.), who bring size and energy to the team. Cooper’s height and versatility make him a valuable asset, while Quenton’sathleticism and defensive skills add a new dimension to the Wolves’ backcourt. Other freshmen like Owen Sheppard (5-10, Fr.), Caleb Treat (6-0, Fr.), and Kanon Bradley (6-0, Fr.) will also be instrumental as they contribute off the bench and develop their game.
Sophomores Bryson Braudway (5-8, So.) and Damien McCullar (5-9, So.) are poised to build on their experience from last year and add depth to the lineup. Additionally, juniors Allen Esparza (5-8, Jr.) and Karver Trentham (6-0, Jr.) bring valuable experience and leadership to this young team.
With a deep roster and a mix of experience and young talent, the Wolves are focused on making steady improvements throughout the season. Coach Hurt and the Vanoss community are excited to see how this team grows, with each player working to perfect the “little things” that Hurt emphasized as the key to success.
