PAOLI PUGS
Coach: VINCE FULKS
6-5
OFFENSE
Paoli heads into the new season with a seasoned and dynamic offensive squad. “We have a very experienced senior group that can hopefully lead us back into the playoffs,” says head coach Vince Fulks. The Pugs will employ a spread offense with elements of a one-back formation, focusing on spreading the defense while controlling the clock. The offense is anchored by senior fullback Scotty Garrett (6-1, 245, Sr.), who tallied 1,138 yards on 117 carries and scored 9 touchdowns last season. Dual-threat Conner Boone (6-3, 172, Sr.) adds versatility with 1,472 rushing yards, 682 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Paoli aims to slow the game down and use the clock effectively. Quarterback Jett Underwood (5-10, 150, So.) will direct the offense, supported by key linemen Jorge Charqueno (6-2, 280, Sr.) and Fredi Emiliano (5-9, 330, Jr.). Xylan Wallace (5-11, 160, Jr.) also had a strong performance last season at tight end, with 18 receptions for 236 yards and three touchdowns. With six returning starters, the Pugs are set for a strong offensive performance.
DEFENSE
The Pugs’ defense will operate from a 3-2 base, emphasizing technique, speed, and aggression. “We focus on getting lined up to any formation and playing as fast and aggressive as possible,” Fulks said. The defense is spearheaded by standout defensive end Scotty Garrett, who recorded 161 tackles and forced 11 fumbles last season. Safety Conner Boone adds depth with 118 tackles and five interceptions. Linebackers Jett Underwood and Xylan Wallace bring intensity and physicality to the defensive unit. Nose guard Jaccob Rager (5-11, 225, Sr.) bolsters the front line with his solid tackling and pass-rushing abilities. With five returning starters, the Pugs’ defense is poised to be a formidable unit. Assistant coaches include Lance Sumner, Gunner Chambers, James Cox, and Peyton Manning.
