Allen’s Quintin Box – Football Spotlight- Presented by Ellis Stone Co.

There’s more to football than just the final score for Allen senior Quintin Box. Sure, he wants to win—every athlete does. But for Box, success is measured not just in wins, but in how he impacts others along the way. “A personal goal I have before every season is always having a winning season and changing the people around me better,” he said. That mindset speaks volumes about his leadership and vision for the team.

As the 2025 season approaches, Box sees a difference in the way things are coming together. “This season, I feel we are more involved and more focused than last year,” he explained. Focused energy has turned into faster, sharper practices. “Biggest improvement would be our practices. I feel our practices have been crisp and we hustle as a team,” he added.

The big picture is clear in the locker room: make a playoff run and don’t settle for less. “A big goal we have as a team is making playoffs and going deep into playoffs,” Box said. To do that, Allen is leaning into one of its most dangerous weapons—versatility in the backfield. “Our biggest strength is our backfield. We have multiple guys that can make people miss and we have strength with our RBs too,” he said.

Box fills up the stat sheet and the leadership column, playing quarterback, strong safety, and linebacker. “Our reads are mainly the D-line but if we pass, I’ll read the outside backer,” he explained of his dual-threat football IQ. On both sides of the ball, his mentality stays aggressive. “Defensively and offensively, I think I have always had the mentality to go make plays—go make that tackle, go make someone miss—it’s always been that way throughout high school.”

Preparation matters, too. “I prepare by getting a good night’s rest and drinking lots of water and getting protein to keep my energy levels up,” he said. And as he steps onto the field, Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ blares in his head, fueling that first whistle intensity.

When it’s all said and done? “I want to be known as a leader and a servant for people,” Box said.
