Senior outfielder Noah Bray brings experience, speed and a loose, confident mindset to an Allen baseball team eager to make its mark this spring.
“I think my personal goals would be a good leader and teammate,” Bray said.
He said the group’s outlook for the year is already encouraging, especially with familiar faces back in the dugout. “It’s definitely optimistic I would say, we have a few guys returning from last year that are ready to make a statement,” he said.
For Allen, the plan is to build daily. “Some of our goals would just to work and get better every single day and see how far it takes us,” Bray said.
He believes one quality will stand out in every lineup and defensive look. “Definitely our speed, we will have speed in just about every position on the field and throughout our batting order,” he said.
Bray patrols the grass and uses that speed to his advantage. “Outfield,” he said of his position.
At the plate, he keeps his approach simple and situational. “I look for shifts and gaps to be able to hit a hard grounder or line drive through,” Bray said.
He jokes that staying physically ready can be pretty straightforward. “Ibuprofen and Biofreeze are my best friends,” he said.
Mentally, he knows playing tight only leads to mistakes. “Just play loose and have fun, you can’t be scared because that’s when mistakes and errors will happen,” Bray said.
Across every sport he plays, Bray wants his effort to define him. “I want to be known as a hard worker no matter what sports I’m in,” he said.
Inside the clubhouse, he said there is a shared sense of anticipation. “We are all ambitious to see how this year plays out,” Bray said.
Before games, he turns to a favorite rock classic. “Never Die – Creed,” he said of his go-to hype song.
The memories, he added, are more about the journey than one single play. “I wouldn’t really say I have a favorite memory,” Bray said. “I have had some really fun times with these kids and done some really cool things in an Allen uniform.”
His stats say it all: “batting average .356, .443 OBP, 12 RBI, 11 stolen bases 2025 season. I play football, basketball and baseball.” His plans after high school are to “start working and making an honest living.”
