For Ada High School junior Miilan Riley, basketball is more than just a sport; it’s a reflection of his dedication and love for his family. “My family motivates me,” he says, attributing his drive on and off the court to their constant support.
Balancing roles as both point guard and shooting guard, Miilan’s game is marked by versatility and leadership. “It has taken a lot of dedication and hard work to be successful in my sports,” he shares. That hard work paid off during one of the most memorable moments of his career: “Making two clutch threes versus Millwood was definitely a highlight,” Miilan recalls.
While basketball is his primary focus, Miilan also excels in track and leadership activities on campus. “I’m involved with leadership,” he says, a reflection of his ability to inspire both on the court and in the classroom. His commitment to growth isn’t limited to athletics; he credits one teacher in particular for sparking a new passion. “Mrs. Ross sparked an interest in photography that I never thought I would have,” he shares, showing how a well-rounded education complements his sports achievements.
Miilan draws inspiration from his mother, who he describes as a significant role model in his life. “She does a lot for my family and pushes me to be better every day,” he says. Her influence helps fuel his ambition to excel and represent Ada High School with pride. “It means a lot to me to be able to play for this school and community,” Miilan explains, highlighting the honor he feels wearing Ada’s jersey.
After high school, Miilan plans to take his game to the next level. “I plan on playing basketball in college,” he says, excited for the opportunities ahead. As he continues to develop his skills, Miilan remains focused on making the most of his time at Ada and leaving a legacy both on and off the court.
From hitting clutch shots to discovering new interests like photography, Miilan Riley embodies what it means to be a well-rounded student-athlete. His dedication to family, academics, and his community makes him a standout at Ada High School.
