Ada, meet your 2024-25 varsity competitive cheer team. This year’s squad will be the crowd’s heartbeat on Friday nights this fall while working towards a team title at state.
“AHS cheer works all year long to promote school spirit,” head coach Karry Griese said. “They compete in several competitions throughout the year including OSSAA Performance and Game Day. They serve their school and community and continuously put ‘we’ above ‘me.’”
Kennedi Cutler (Sr.) looks to lead the Cougars cheer team back to state.
“Kennedi started cheering in eighth grade and has loved every second of it,” Griese said. “It has allowed her to grow as a leader and has given her many opportunities to represent her school. The past 4 years, she has come out of her shell and made many lifelong friends because of cheer. She truly loves cheer and Ada High School.”
Natalie Jussley (Sr.) is one of the team’s seasoned athletes. The veteran enters her sixth year as an Ada cheerleader this fall.
“Her [Jussley] favorite memories from cheer are waiting in the tunnel before taking the mat at competitions and all the home football games. She has been a true leader through her entire cheer career and, according to her, met some of her best friends doing what she loves.”
Anna Beth Muse (So.), only in her second year on the varsity team, has already made a big impact in Griese’s program and looks to continue improving. Her cheer career started in seventh grade.
“She [Muse] has won numerous awards, beating out athletes who are much older than her,” Griese said. “Some of the awards she has won are NCA All-American twice, J&C All-Star, J&C Top Gun Jumper & Motions, Transcend Best Jr. Jumps and Top Performer and ECC Best Jumper.”
Another sophomore, Campbell Cole (So.) has become similarly decorated since joining cheer in the seventh grade and making varsity one year ago.
“She [Campbell] has won several individual awards including All-Star, Top Gun Tumbler, Top Gun Stunt Group and All-American,” Griese said. “Campbell is a class act who treats everyone with love and kindness.
