OUTLOOK

The Antlers Lady Bearcats enter the 2025-2026 season with a new sense of direction and energy under head coach Alissa Hardin, who begins her second year leading the program. With a young roster and a focus on development, Hardin is confident her team will surprise people as the year progresses.

“We will be a very young team with only four upperclassmen,” said Hardin. “This will be a learning experience for the team because of the girls having a new coach and having to rely on freshmen and sophomores to elevate their game.”

The Lady Bearcats’ youth movement will be on full display with several underclassmen stepping into key roles early. Freshman point guard London McGrew (5-4) is one of those players expected to make an immediate impact. “London is a fiery freshman who wants to be the best player she can be,” Hardin said. “She is not afraid to ask a question during practice or ask what she needs to do better. London wants to take her game to the next level, and she knows the hard work it will take to get there. Freshman year will be a learning experience for her with the change of pace and talent level, but I am confident she will rise to the level she needs to be.”

Joining McGrew in the lineup is junior shooting guard Karlee Callahan (5-6), who will be counted on to bring consistency on both ends of the floor. Junior forward Sadie Hill (5-8) adds strength and rebounding inside, while senior forward Avery Babb (5-10) provides leadership and experience as one of the team’s few upperclassmen. Freshman guard Kee’Ana Martinez (5-7) will also be key to the Bearcats’ guard rotation, giving Hardin another young player eager to prove herself.

In addition to her young core, Hardin praised senior Kayla Wolfe, who represents the heart and spirit of the program. “Kayla is a teammate every team needs to have,” Hardin said. “She is everyone’s biggest cheerleader and will be the first one to celebrate after anything good that happens. She’s the type of kid that will hold herself accountable and pick up her teammates when they’re down. I think she is a great leader and great example of how a leader should be.”

Despite the team’s youth, Hardin believes this group’s energy and commitment will make them a tough opponent.
