When Kale Fuller steps onto the field under the Friday night lights, he’s not just thinking about winning the game—he’s thinking about his team, his family, and the community he represents. “The team we have this year is the definition of family. We would go to war for the brother beside us and fight through anything that comes our way,” he said. That sense of unity drives Kale and his teammates at Ada High School.
As one of the varsity team captains, Kale takes his leadership role seriously. “I prepare by keeping everyone, including myself, accountable in practice, during the week and in games. I strive to be the leader that my teammates can trust in and will listen to,” he explained. Kale’s dedication to the team is clear, and his goals for the season are just as focused: “To win that gold ball and hold up that finger knowing that we are number one. That we are state champions.”
Inspiration runs deep for Kale: “My biggest influences are my dad who had always pushed me to do my best, and my grandpa ‘Coach’ who has always given me the greatest coaching.”
Kale’s journey in football hasn’t been without challenges. Reflecting on a tough moment in his career, he recalled his ninth-grade season. “Our previous two seasons of junior high football were both losing seasons where in eighth grade we didn’t win a single game. But the ninth-grade season was different. We had the drive to go out and want to win because we had never felt that feeling before. At the end of that season, we went 4-3, which was the first time our grade had a winning season. It was huge for our class,” Kale shared. That drive to win has stayed with him as he enters his final season with the Ada Cougars.
Looking ahead, Kale plans to pursue a career in sports videography. “In five years, I see myself done with my football playing career. I wish to pursue a career in sports videography/filmography… I see myself having graduated college and going on to work for ESPN or Netflix to produce sport films or documentaries.”
Off the field, Kale enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, friends and family, while also running his own videography business.
