Antlers’ Raycton Low – Football Spotlight – Presented by Kiamichi Family Medical Center

Raycton Low’s journey from a wide receiver to a quarterback at Antlers High School is a testament to his adaptability and dedication. “I started my football career as a sophomore playing as a wide receiver and turned into a quarterback my senior year,” Raycton shared.

Inspired by the legends of the game, Raycton looks up to Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield. “What inspired me was watching football. Tom Brady and Baker Mayfield were my biggest influences,” he said. These idols have shaped his approach to the game and his aspirations.

The team’s chemistry is a key component of their success this season. Raycton describes it as “excellent,” noting, “We always have guys willing to put in the extra work that is needed.” His specific role as leader and quarterback involves mental preparation and focus: “In pregame, I listen to music while preparing my mind.”

Looking ahead, Raycton has clear goals for the 2024 season. “To make a deep playoff run, no matter what it takes,” he said. His daily training regimen supports this ambition, combining “a workout during my off hours till practice, then we have team practice. I stay after and throw at least 100 more balls.”

The path hasn’t been without its challenges. Becoming a quarterback was a significant hurdle: “It took a lot of patience and training.” Yet, these experiences have been pivotal in his development. A highlight of his career was “becoming a quarterback,” showcasing his progress and achievements.

Looking to the future, Raycton hopes to continue playing football at the next level or graduate with a surveying degree from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. “I really hope I can continue football to the next level. If not, I plan to get a surveying degree at OSU-IT.”

Raycton values community support for its role in creating a great fan base and entertaining home games: “Community support is key to having a great fan base and entertaining home games.” 

Off the field, Raycton enjoys duck hunting, deer hunting, working out and baseball. With plans to continue football and possibly pursue it in college, Raycton Low embodies the spirit of passionate student-athlete.
