HARTSHORNE MINERS
Coach: BILL WILLIAMS
7-4
OFFENSE
Hartshorne returns to the field with a promising offensive lineup, and many seniors are ready for the challenge. “This is an outstanding group of young men that are committed to Hartshorne Miner Football and more importantly, they are committed to building a strong team in 2024,” said head coach Bill Williams. “More than half of these seniors have started 32 games going into their senior year.” The Miners will employ a balanced offensive attack under the guidance of Williams. Senior Brett Lindley (Sr.) will aid the offense, along with key players such as Gus Miller (Sr.) Kannan Osier (Sr.), Carter Johnson (Sr.), Benny Mattioda (Sr.), Aden Reeves (Sr.) and Pedan Ratliff (Sr.). The offensive line, anchored by senior linemen Cody Sanders (Sr.), Clifford Cantrell (Sr.), Carson Curliss (Sr.) and Cameron Tallant (Sr.), will play a critical role in both the run and pass game. Gage Coffey (Sr.) and Tyler Crow (Sr.) will also play integral roles this season. Underclassmen Acetin Rowell (Jr.) and Malachi Sunagoowie (Jr.) will also be viable at the running back and tight end positions. With a number of returning starters, the Miners are looking forward to a robust offensive season.
DEFENSE
The Miners’ defense will focus on being tough and physical this season. The defense emphasizes physical play, tackling and stopping the run. “We have a great responsibility in Hartshorne to hold up our end of the great football tradition left to us. We will do our very best to do that as a school, town and team,” Williams said. The defensive line features Cody Sanders (Sr.), a force in the trenches. The secondary will rely on the solid coverage provided by Gus Miller (Sr.), Brett Lindley (Sr.) and Carter Johnson (Sr.). The linebacker corps is bolstered by returning starters Acetin Rowell (Jr.) and Malachi Sunagoowie (Jr.), both of whom bring intensity and experience to the defense.
